xcuse:u started out at the beginning of last year and was founded by BBY G, Keex, Freya K. and DJ Chichi with the motivation to take progressive steps towards more diversity in club culture. Their club nights are accompanied by political aspects of club culture – the focus is particularly on empowerment, safe(r) spaces and raising awareness about discrimination. With their events they seek to create community spaces where people can inform and raise awareness through workshops on (queer) feminist issues. xcuse:u wants to show that it is possible to make club nights safer, more discrimination-free and more solidary. The representation of flinta* artists is clearly in the foreground – the events are open to allies of all genders.
