Circa Waves clearly stand for driving, melodic indie rock inspired by The Strokes and The Vaccines. Founded in Liverpool, they were able to celebrate some charts success in the motherland of rock with their distinctive postpunk anthems. In their native UK, this sound was so well received that soon after their debut they were offered a contract with Transgressive Records, the former home of Foals, The Subways and Mystery Jets. In January 2023, Circa Waves released “Never Going Under“, their fifth studio album. Inspired by founder and singer Kieran Shudall’s experience of becoming a father and his concerns about climate change and the state of the world.
